Kennedy Mission Statement
In order to prepare our students for meeting the challenges of the twenty-first century, the Kennedy learning community is dedicated and committed to ensuring our students become lifelong learners. Students will make responsible choices, access various sources of information, and work independently, collaboratively and creatively. They will also learn to make healthy choices and to value and respect their own and others' needs and differences within a safe, nurturing environment.

The folks at Sangha have just launched a new Parents Self Serve Signup.
How it works
Once you sign up on the self serve page, you will receive an email invitation from Sangha with easy instructions.
You can help keep the environment safe and cleaner for the future generations and support LOV Newark at the same time. LOV receives a salvage/disposal donation from the recycler. Anything working or that can be repaired will find a good home. If not, parts will be salvaged and waste will be properly disposed of. Just call LOV Newark at 510-793-5683 if you need pick up. WHEN YOU VISIT
Please wear the appropriate sticker badge that are provide for you in the school office, while you are on campus. This is for the safety of all the children and staff at Kennedy Elementary. In case of an emergency situation every person on campus must be accounted for.
If you need to get something to your child, please stop at the school office first and the office staff will be happy to help you. Please do not go directly to the classroom and disturb the teacher while they are in session. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Kennedy's Annual ART AUCTION
Please Join Kennedy Elementary School tonight~ Friday, April 7th from 5:30 - 7:30!
This is a wonderful event. Each classroom has made a collaborative piece that will be auctioned off. Each child has also made an individual piece that you may purchase.
The volunteers and students have been working hard for the last few weeks on their art pieces!
There is also a student dance presentation, raffle prizes.
Arteaga's Taqueria will be serving taco dinners. If you have not purchased a meal you may at the event.

Registration for 2017-2018
Registration is in progress! Registration packet are available at the school office until June 20th. Registration packets will be available at the N.U.S.D. office June 26- August 1.
Just to be prepared here are a few of the things you will need:
Birth Certificate or Passport
Current Immunizations along with TB test results
Physical Examination dated after March 2017
2 proofs of residency
NUSD registration packet.
Once completed the registration packet and you have all the above required documents you will return them to Kennedy School office.
At that time you child will be enrolled .

Students that live in the Kennedy School boundaries will attend Schilling Elementary School. You will need to contact them to register your child 36901 Spruce St. 510-818-3800.

California SB 277 Law effective January 2016 Immunization Requirements
ALL Students entering 7th grade in August 2017 need to have the Dtap immunization!
Students that currently have an exemption on file and will be entering 7th grade in August 2017 will need to immunized before entrance to 7th grade.

Outdoor Courtyard/ Event Area
Help J.F. Kennedy Elementary raise funds for our Outdoor Courtyard. Events coming in the spring will be our 1st Flea Market and School Raffle! Oakland A's Step Up to the Plate For Education discounted tickets. Watch for dates and space rental information coming soon!

Kennedy Eagles Passport to Success
Just a reminder that stamped Passports are due the last Friday of the month. Students will receive a prize for stamped passports. If you have signed up for Sangha (texting information application) Kennedy Facebook page, joined the PTA, walked in the Newark Days parade, attended a PTA or ELAC meeting, volunteered in the classroom, bought Scrip or attended Back to School Night your student will receive a stamp for each. Come by the office or classroom to get the passport stamped. Passports will be returned to the students for the next month of Kennedy School travels!
