Kennedy Mission  Statement

In order to prepare our students for meeting the challenges of the twenty-first century, the Kennedy learning community is dedicated and committed to ensuring our students become lifelong learners.  Students will make responsible choices, access various sources of information, and work independently, collaboratively and creatively.  They will also learn to make healthy choices and to value and respect their own and others' needs and differences within a safe, nurturing environment.

LOV Newark

You can help keep the environment safe and cleaner for the future generations and support LOV Newark at the same time.  LOV receives a salvage/disposal donation from the recycler.  Anything working or that can be repaired will find a good home.  If not, parts will be salvaged and waste will be properly disposed of.  Just call LOV Newark at 510-793-5683 if you need pick up.  Or you can drop off donations at their office at 8440 Central Ave., Suite A/B, Newark

All Visitors on campus must come to the office and sign in during the school day this also includes all classroom volunteers and school helpers.

Please wear the appropriate sticker badge that are provide for you in the school office, while you are on campus. This is for the safety of all the children and staff at Kennedy Elementary. In case of an emergency situation every person on campus must be accounted for.

                       If you need to get something to your child, please stop at the school office first and the office staff will be happy to help you.  Please do not go directly to the classroom and disturb the teacher while they are in session.  Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival Friday October 20th 5:30 - 8:00

The Harvest Festival is a fun family night.  The kids and (and parents too) come dressed in costume and play carnival type games.  The tickets are purchased for 25 cents at the front cafeteria door. and tickets are redeemed at the game booths.  The game booths are decorated by each classroom.  The kids create decorations in class and parent volunteers decorate each booth.  Dinner is available to purchase in advance or the day of and is provided by Dino's Grill from Newark!  Pre-order information attached.

Make A Difference

J.F. Kennedy School will be collecting socks, gloves and warm hats the week of Oct. 16 - 20.  The donation box is located at the front of the school office.






Please bring your clear, empty plastic bottles, and empty cans (no glass or milk jugs) This supports the ongoing 6th grade Outdoor Education

Outdoor Courtyard/ Event Area

Help J.F. Kennedy Elementary raise funds for our Outdoor Courtyard. 

We would like to say "Thank you" to the Newark Rotary Club!  Kennedy Elementary School applies for a grant and we received $500 to help purchase tables, planters and plants for our courtyard!

California SB 277 Law effective January 2016 Immunization Requirements

ALL Students entering 7th grade in August 2017 need to have the Dtap immunization!
Now in effect SB277 the new immunization law which eliminates personal and religious belief exemptions to required California immunizations.  

Students that currently have an exemption on file and will be entering 7th grade in August 2017 will need to immunized before entrance to 7th grade.
